Relaxing

Christmas has come and gone and now we wait for the new year.  What will it bring?   I wondeR?

I wish for health and time to enjoy my family.  What’s on your list?

It’s Friday

It’s a little overcast this morning but I see the promise of a gorgeous day. I have a three day weekend and am really looking forward to it. I will have plenty of time to work on my projects. And I am going to my first knitting class at The Yarn Garden in Whittier on Sunday. Can’t wait. I k ow it will be lots of fun.

Yarny weekend

Yesterday I went to The Yarn Garden of Whittier. Let me tell you its a nice place. All kinds of smoochy and soft yarn, needles shiny and bright. There is a couch to hang out on, and talk and knit and make friends. The ladies were so welcoming, all of them with their different projects big and small. I worked on my Hey Teach Cardi and got thru the first 7 lines of the lace chart on the back of the Cardi. All to soon, it was time to leave. But before I left I signed up for Diana’s Class on Saroyan to be held ov the next 3 Sunday’s. And of course I had to buy yarn

WIP Wednesday

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I went away for the weekend to Santa Catalina Island. There is a wonderful little craft store there and I have purchased yarn there everytime we go to the island. This time it was some Noro Silk Garden Lite. So then of course as soon as I got home I scoured Ravelry for just the right project to make with it and settled on Kathleen Taylors Horseshoe triangle scarf. I have just finished one ball of yarn.

pretty stuff huh.

A New Day

Well I am going to give this blogging thing a try. I am a breast cancer survivor.  Three years now.  I learned to knit while recovering from surgery and while undergoing chemo.  Boy have I enjoyed it.  I learned to knit and purl and make rectangles, and then knit in the round, and now lace.  I have a yarn stash that I am proud of.  And my head is so full of project I want to make and gifts to make that I can’t quite keep up with them.  I cast on one project, get halfway through that and something else catches my eye and I pull out another set of needles and start that too.  Currently I have Turtlegirl76′s Breaking Hearts Socks half done (one sock), The Hey Teach Cardi, and a horseshoe shawl…WIP pics will soon follow.

well its a start…tomorrow is a new day.
